Podcast #305: Clear, Effective & Efficient

HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION Welcome back to the weekly podcast, No More Excuses.

Thank you for being here, for listening and sharing this podcast with others!

Last Monday’s podcast was about continuing to learn by being curious. What are you curious about? What keeps you wanting to learn more?

I also did a quick recap on what I will be talking about over the next six weeks! The topics were from YOU! Yes, you… listeners.

So, this week we’ll start with COMMUNICATION!

As some of you may know, I’m a DiSC® certified coach. If you aren’t familiar with the DiSC® Assessment, it’s used to help build confidence, and improve COMMUNICATION!

Having clear, effective, and efficient COMMUNICATION is key to anyone’s success – no matter what you do for a living!

Listen in as I ask you a few questions to help you recognize how you communicate or others communicate with you.

I work with clients regularly on communication.

Communication is more than an assessment. It’s key in life – your personal relationships as well.

Being CLEAR with your communication is sometimes easier said than done. And, due to technology, we communicate in many ways; in-person, text, social media, email, video, advertising, and marketing platforms.

Think about if you’ve ever started to leave a voice mail and stopped and deleted and started over or perhaps it cut you off or you hung up and was like “shit, I forgot to say [fill in the blank]!”

How many times have you texted or emailed someone, and it was taken wrong?

Or you needed to talk with a business partner or employee, and you just didn’t feel like you were getting your message across.

SO MANY CHALLENGES with communication!

Being more intentional and careful with your words – however you are using them – is key and is harder, and yes more time-consuming, and well, it can definitely be paralyzing for some.

My suggestion is to always – and this is me taking my own advice – pause and take a breath and then reply. (Same goes for an argument at home!)

Knowing the DiSC® assessment has helped me identify when someone is a “processor”, and needs time to think. With my personality, I want a response immediately, and I used to not understand why someone needed a “moment to think”!

Communication.

Listen in as today I give suggestions on how to communicate more effectively, and realize everyone communicates and listen differently!

But more than anything:

• Think before you speak

• Re-read an email or text before you hit send!

• Be as clear! Be specific and…

More than anything… LISTEN!

So, this week – listen in and if you’re interested, DM me or email me at for your FREE DiSC assessment link!

Cheers!
